The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.....

It's that time of year again.......Daddy is done with the season!!!!

That means lots of snuggle time, family days, and snoozing :)

Felix snapped this picture while I was out. I think it is my favorite picture ever! He said Levi got scared while they were watching a particularly scary part in a Dora movie, and Emma grabbed him and said she would keep him safe. He said they stayed like this for about 20 minutes. I absolutely love it.

Reading Wizard of Oz.

After Thanksgiving is done, decorating for Hanukah begins!
Emma was VERY excited about it this year. Levi was not into it at all- but he enjoyed playing dreidel on the couch.

Helping Daddy put up our Happy Hanukah lights

Emma took a break from decorating the window behind her with Hanukah gel-clings to dance a bit to "Oh Chanukah".
The house is all decorated, and we are feeling very festive. And the cold winds have come just in time to make it feel like winter!

Thanksgiving 2012

Welcome Back! Here is part-2 of our blog :)

We had a really nice Thanksgiving this year. We always have to wait until the last minute to decide on our Thanksgiving plans depending on Felix's team schedule- but it always turns out great.

This year we started off our celebration at Emma's preschool with a Thanksgiving show & feast. The kids put on their special handmade turkey hats (apparently, Emma insisted on wearing her purple headband over her hat), sang songs, and told everyone what they were thankful for this year.

"I'm thankful my mommy gives me an oatmeal tubby".
Then, it was time to eat. We contributed rolls for the feast- which is pretty much all Emma ate anyways. Levi & Felix joined us for the festivities, and Levi has been singing the turkey song ever since.

This is the pose I got when I asked him what he was eating.

This is how Emma described how to cook a turkey.

And I still have my own turkey cookin' in the oven! Only about 11 weeks to go (hopefully).
On Thursday morning, Emma & I started preparing for the big Thanksgiving dinner we were hosting. We had a few of the athletes from the water polo team join us in addition to one of our close family friends. It ended up being a great night, lots of fun, yummy food, and the kids played together perfectly!
Emma wanted to help make the fruit & cheese kabobs for our turkey- even though she looks thrilled to be doing so in this picture :)

 Our Thanksgiving "turkey" decoration/snack!

Our Thanksgiving Feast! Delicious ham & turkey from Honey Baked Ham Co., homemade roasted garlic & scallion mashed potatoes, sausage & sage stuffing, cranberry sauce, glazed carrots, roasted green beans, corn casserole and yummy baked cinnamon apples. (and a bottle of ketchup in the background for our little friend Jayin's chicken nuggets!).
Our dinner guests! We all fit nicely at the dining room table and enjoyed a relaxing dinner together with great conversation while the kids actually ATE their dinner at their special table with their fun turkey centerpiece decorations.

Looking forward to next year! Happy Thanksgiving :)
